| Sandown was incorporated on April 6, 1756 as it separated from Kingstown (now Kingston). Sandown took it's name from Sandown on the Isle of Wight in England. These are the only two Sandowns in the world! | |
| The people of Sandown, New Hampshire experienced many interesting events as the town grew. | |
| Originally a farming community, the people of Sandown put the waters of the Exeter River to work. Small family run mills were built in several river locations though the town. Little is know about many of these mills as they were quite small and operated for a very short time. | |
