Sandown Depot looking South

The train is coming from Worcester. The single box car (far right) is on a siding. The flower pots in the foreground are made from old engine smoke stacks. At the turn of the century, Sandown station was voted the most attractive station between Nashua, New Hampshire and Portland, Maine by the Boston and Maine Corporation. In 1908 the railroad planted several hundred trees to create the town's first public park (off the left side of the picture).
